A Lake Mary man remains in the Seminole County jail this weekend after police said he stole an ambulance Tuesday from the Central Florida Regional Hospital – with a firefighter in the back.

The Seminole County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in locating a man they said robbed an elderly couple that was trying to help him in Longwood.

Police arrested a man Tuesday after they said he began shooting at a family on Summerlin Avenue after a dispute over fireworks.

Central Florida Regional Hospital has received official designation as a Level II Trauma Center from the Florida Department of Health.  Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) officials completed in-depth reviews, including an on-site visit to the hospital in March, before issuing approval.

Sanford police have identified the second man wanted in connection with a June 17 homicide, and are seeking the public’s help to locate him.
Police said they found Daquan McClain on June 17 in front of the Central Florida Regional Hospital with a gunshot wound to his chest. McClain later died from his injuries.

Police are still looking for a third suspect in a carjacking that occurred early Saturday morning where Mayor Jeff Triplett was the victim.
According to police, Triplett was approaching the residence of his Campaign Manager Dan Ping on Chapman Avenue around 2:15 a.m. Saturday morning. While outside he was approached by three men, two of which had guns.

Rachel Fryer, the mother accused of killing her 2-year-old daughter and burying the child in a suitcase, took a plea deal Tuesday and plead guilty to second-degree murder.
