Man arrested after shooting at neighbors

Police arrested a man Tuesday after they said he began shooting at a family on Summerlin Avenue after a dispute over fireworks.
Police said the incident began on the Fourth of July when a neighbor on the 15th block of Summerlin Avenue told another neighbor to stop shooting his fireworks. According to the police report the family shooting off fireworks had been drinking alcohol and threatened the neighbors during the initial altercation.
The following day around 4 p.m. the neighboring families began to fight, at which point one man was yelling out racial slurs. That man, according to the report pulled out a handgun and began shooting at the other family.
On-scene police found shell casings and a bullet hole in of the neighbor’s cars.
Police arrested Coty Darian Silvia, 22, of Sanford, and charged him with three counts of attempted first-degree murder, property damage and firing a weapon in a public area. He is currently in the Seminole County jail with no bond. Hi arraignment is set for Aug. 8.
Silvia has one open case in Seminole County after being arrested in May for possession of marijuana under 20 grams. He has arrests going back to 2010 in Seminole County for driving without a license, resisting an officer and theft.
Just this year Silvia has been arrested for criminal mischief and battery.
