Oviedo officer shoots suspect during incident

A suspect was shot by an Oviedo police officer this week – the first officer-involved shooting in Oviedo in more than 30 years.
Police said they were dispatched to the 900 block of Sharon Court on Thursday around 5:55 a.m. after receiving a 911 call. During the call the caller whispered, “Send police” and hung up.

Police investigate shooting that left 2 injured in Sanford

Sanford Police are investigating a shooting that injured two people during an incident Tuesday on Country Club Circle.
Police said they received a 911 call Tuesday around 2:15 p.m. for shots fired in the area of Country Club Circle and Anderson Avenue. When officers arrived they found two male victims, 17 and 19 years old, in the area of William Clark Avenue with gunshot wounds.

Altamonte police officer arrested for domestic violence

Seminole County deputies arrested an Altamonte Springs officer early Tuesday morning after they said he was involved in a domestic violence incident.
Police said the deputies arrived at the officer’s home around 1:28 a.m. in reference to a domestic violence disturbance. Upon arrival the deputies made contact with the officer’s spouse.

Sanford Police: Body of drowned man recovered near Lake Monroe Marina

Police had to recover the body of a man in Lake Monroe this weekend after they said he intentionally drowned himself.
The incident took place around 4:40 p.m. at the Monroe Harbor Marina. Police said they received a 911 call stating a man had walked into the water and had not resurfaced or made any attempts to swim back.

Preparations for a parade performance of a lifetime took a leap forward in London this summer – when the Director of Bands, flew to the UK to help finalize arrangements.
More than 550,000 spectators are expected to line the streets of London, England on Jan. 1, 2017 to welcome in the New Year and watch one of the world’s great street spectaculars.
