Todd's Quality Tomatoes on Beardall Avenue was raided by law enforcement Wednesday morning for as-yet-unknown reasons.

As the work day was starting Wednesday morning, agents with Homeland Security and the Air Force raided Todd’s Quality Tomatoes on Beardall Avenue.

No information was available to the media as to why, except that law enforcement had executed a search warrant on the property for an unstated reason.

The historic dry cleaners building at 113 S. Palmetto Avenue was sold on Tuesday morning to the people who are currently transforming the adjacent Old Jail building into a restaurant and bar, according to Deputy City Manager Tom George.

When the numbers for the City of Sanford election came in Tuesday evening, Mayor Jeff Triplett nearly held his seat without a run-off. However, he was just shy of being re-elected as mayor, garnering just short of half the votes at 49.03 percent. Instead, he will have to go through a run-off on Nov. 6 against Pasha Baker, who gained 23.12 percent of the votes.

Seminole County decides to purchase Rolling Hills in hopes to preserve it

Seminole County Commissioners on Tuesday finally made the decision to purchase the Rolling Hills Golf Course in Longwood for $3.99 million.

The decision marks the culmination of an effort started by residents of the neighborhood nearby to save the defunct golf course and turn it into a park.
