   SANFORD — Ten boats came out to sail in the Wednesday Night Rum Race last week to enjoy a little recreation and have a good time before Hurricane Matthew paid a visit to the area.

   Here is the schedule for Week 7 in the Mid Florida Pop Warner League. There will be 15-sites holding games (Seminole County teams in bold) in six weight classes _ Tiny Mite; Mitey Mite; Junior Pee Wee; Pee Wee; Junior Varsity; Unlimited _ Saturday with most days starting at 9 a.m. and continuing throughout the day. Here is the schedule.

Hampton (No. 2) rushed for 280-yards and four touchdowns as the Tribe improved to 5-0 overall 2-0 in 8A-2; Despite suffering losses, Lake Brantley’s Paris Hennington (No. 22) scored a pair of touchdowns and Jalen Lee (No. 6) intercepted two passes for the second straight game and Oviedo’s Morgan Mitchell (No. 2) threw for 473-yards and six touchdowns.

FHSAA approves new football playoff format

Under the newly approved FHSAA rules, Seminole High School would have qualified for the 2015 postseason and given the Seminole Athletic Conference three teams _ joining Lake Brantley and Oviedo _ in the Class 8A-Region 1 Playoffs.
