Could downtown have a new dining experience?

Developer Mike Menaker hoeps to bring the rail car dining experience to downtown in a car similar to the one above.

Downtown Sanford could soon see a specialty-themed retail and restaurant venue in which you can eat and drink inside a remodeled old train car, if developer Mitch Menaker has his way.

It’s part of his latest venture, All Aboard Dining Cars, planned to come to a lot near 2nd Street and Palmetto Avenue.

Police make third homicide arrest in Mama Coots deadly shooting

Police arrested Justin Lamarr Buckner, 23, on charges of premeditated murder Monday, in the ongoing case of the murder of Derek Williams last month.

Williams, 28, died in a shootout outside Mama Coot’s on Historic Goldsboro Boulevard on Sept. 8.

Big developments for former Flea World site

Where there was once FleaWorld, there will one day be a sprawling metropolis called Parkside Place.

Taking the spot of the former “nation’s largest flea market” near 17/92 and Ronald Reagan Boulevard, Parkside Place will feature 4,076 multi-family units, 752 student housing units for Seminole Stage College students, an Assisted Living Facility, a hotel, retail space and office space.

Historic Preservation Board questions future for city

County commission candidate had trouble with Seminole schools

Kidnapping suspect turns himself in

An arrest has been made in the kidnapping of an infant girl, Sanford Police said Wednesday.

Tedrick Mazion, 31, was arrested Wednesday for the alleged kidnapping which occurred last weekend.
