Osteen couple hospitalized with mysterious disease

A man and a woman were hospitalized in Osteen on Sunday after coming down with a disease not identified to the public, officials say.

They were reportedly at their farm at 345 Black Lake Road in Osteen, at which they claimed some of their animals had previously died of an illness, according to Pat Kuehn, Community Information Specialist with Volusia County.

County: Airbnb will be taxed the same as hotels

As of Tuesday’s Seminole County Commission meeting, Airbnb will now be collecting bed tax from hosts in the area, delivering the funds to the county as hotels would normally do.

Airbnb, a mega-popular online vacation rental service, allows users to find people in the area who have beds or rooms available for short periods of time while on vacation or for other travel purposes.

Former Brevard Clerk trial continues in Seminole

The case of former Brevard County Clerk of Courts Mitch Needelman, on trial for fraud and bribery from over five years ago, is still trudging on in Seminole County as he and other defendants in the case are getting a new trial.

There’s no date for that yet and the process is still in the preliminary witness-gathering stage.

Couple killed in murder-suicide in Sanford

Edward and Cathy Kramarcik (above) were found deceased Monday in their Carriage Cove home from an apparent murder-suicide.

Two are dead in an apparent murder-suicide in the Carriage Cove neighborhood in Sanford, police report.

The incident was discovered around noon on Monday. Sanford Police reported to the home at Twin Coach Court to check on the well-being of one resident, Cathy Kramarcik, after she didn’t report to work as she was supposed to that day.
