Former Seminole High School standout Daniele Serrano (above) had a good weekend for Florida Gulf Coast University at the VolleyKnights Invitational in The Venue at CFE Arena at UCF this past weekend. The 6-foot-1 junior middle blocker had 18 kills and six blocks as the Eagles (7-5) went 2-1 with wins over Yale and Alabama State. Serrano has already stamped her place at the top of the FGCU program record book in several categories just halfway through her collegiate career. Heading into 2018 she already held two of the top five single seasons in hitting percentage in the Division-I era, which has positioned her third all-time (2nd in D-I era) in program history and sixth all-time in ASUN (Atlantic Sun Conference) history. She also ranks among the top five in the Division-I era in attack percentage, solo blocks, block assists, total blocks and blocks per set.
