The home at 2015 Coronado Concourse has been shot at twice in one week. 

Two shootings have targeted the same Sanford home in the last week, police say, leaving one injured and so far, no suspects or motive.

The first shooting occurred Wednesday, July 25, close to midnight. The second occurred early Sunday just after midnight.

County commission decides not to outsource libraries

The reason was because they had looked at the proposals and determined that they wouldn’t be improving the quality of the library services, or even necessarily meeting the current standards.

Sanford police make second arrest in recent shooting

Police arrested Sanford resident Ray Anthony Echevarria, 20, on Tuesday for attempted murder and robbery in a case from last week in which a man was shot in an attempted robbery.

He was also allegedly the one who actually pulled the trigger that wounded the victim, not fellow suspect Justice Tyler Lepore, which was alleged in Lepore’s initial arrest.

Nurses picket for better wages, more staffing

On Tuesday evening, a group of nurses marched outside Central Florida Regional Hospital for better pay and staffing by the hospital in contract negotiations.

As the nursing union tries to negotiate better conditions with hospitals, picket protests have been occurring outside some state hospitals, including one on Tuesday night outside Central Florida Regional Hospital in Sanford.

Former Wolfy’s on Marina Island will soon be new event venue

Tom Myers, the owner of new event venue 520 on the Water, was working through an afternoon storm on Monday as the venue is set to open within the next month

A new event center called 520 on the Water will soon be taking the place of closed-down restaurant Wolfy’s on the Marina Island at 520 N. Palmetto Ave.

It’s expected to be open for business in “two to three weeks,” said owner Tom Myers.
