Uber pilot program in Seminole Co. a success

Sanford had the most ridership during the Uber pilot program.

The Uber pilot agreement with five Seminole County cities to provide discounted rides ended on July 5, and Sanford was the most heavily populated in terms of rides, seeing 74,243 trips and costing $133,643 over the last two years.

Uber spokersman Javi Correoso told the Sanford Herald that there was an “obvious demand” for such public-private partnerships.

Sanford Police catch prowler with video camera

Video caught the man that was stalking a 17-year-old girl in Sanford. 

An arrest was made Tuesday morning in the case of a prowler stalking local neighborhoods earlier this month, police said.

The suspect was a juvenile, and arrived at 7:30 in the morning accompanied by his parents to confess to the crime.

Because of his age, his name wasn’t released to the public.

Tax Collector to open new DMV in Winter Springs

It will be located at 1495 E. State Road 434 in Winter Springs, a press release states.

Winter Park man arrested for obscene files on his computer

Seminole County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Winter Park man, 54-year-old Timothy Curran, for over 20 counts of child pornography on Wednesday.

They also stated Curran possibly had “inappropriate contact” with children as well, which they’re still investigating and hope any victims will come forward if they exist.

New schedule to begin for SunRail on Monday

SunRail schedules will change this Monday. 

SunRail begins running service on a new schedule beginning Monday, July 23. The new schedule features more mid-day time slots, as well as running later at night. Service is increasing from the current 18 round trips per day to 20 round trips per day.
