Jacob Gaines, “Jake”, 75, of Sanford, Florida passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 15, 2018 at his residence with his loving family by his side.  He was born on September 30, 1942 in Sanford, Florida to the late Albert Gaines and the late Katie Bell Gaines.  Jake attended Seminole County Public Schools, Sanford, Florida.  He worked as a laborer in the landscaping industry for many years.

David Edgar Henderson Jr., 68, of Sanford, passed away July 16, 2018 at Hospice of the Comforter in Altamonte Springs. He was born in Sanford and worked as a laborer. He was also a member of Saint James AME Church.

Lewis Martin, 81, of Sanford, passed away July 17, 2018 at Central Florida Regional Hospital in Sanford. He was born in Sanford and worked as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of New Zion Primitive Baptist Church and served as chairman of the Deacon Board, Trustee and the Usher Board. He also enjoyed fishing and gardening.

Agnes R. Walker age 93, of Sanford, Florida passed away July 22, 2018. Mrs. Walker was born January 27, 1925 in Daytona Beach, Florida, the daughter of the late Eburn and Bessie (Weatherell) Coates. She was a proud third generation Floridian. Her family remembers fondly she always had a smile. Agnes was a loving and devoted wife and mother, her family meant the world to her.

Arthur Mack Yarbough, 81, of Sanford, Florida passed away on Sunday, July 15, 2018 at Central Florida Regional Hospital, Sanford, Florida.  He was born on June 9, 1937 in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas to the late Steve Yarbough and Edmarie Spencer Yarbough.  Arthur attended Arkansas Public Schools, Walnut Ridge, Arkansas.

Mary Patricia ‚Pat‚ Gillespie, 87, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2018, in Lake Mary, Florida, surrounded by her family. Born in Brooklyn, NY on August 24, 1930 to George P. Coffey and Mary Ellen (Gibbons) Coffey, both Irish immigrants from Dublin and Leitrim, respectively, Pat was raised in the Bronx and attended St. Jean Baptiste High School. Her first job was as a page on Wall Street.

Inez Rhodes Smith 86 Sanford, Florida passed away on July 18, 2018 surrounded by her loving and devoted friends. A Celebration of Life Service will be held today, Saturday, July 21, 2018 at Allen Chapel AME Church 1203 Olive Avenue Sanford. Interment will follow in Restlawn Cemetery. Ms. Smith was born in Sanford to the late Arthur Lee Smith and Emma Lee Curtiss.

Julie B. Dean of Sanford passed away June 24, 2018 at the age of 74 at her home. She was born in New Jersey on February 18, 1944. Mrs. Dean is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Linda Walker, of Sanford; two aunts, Wyona Judy of Clermont and Mary Drawdy of DeLand; and several cousins. She was a graduate of DeLand High School.

Finnis Marie Faine was born December 6, 1951 in Fairfield, Tx. to Oveta and William Johnson. She departed this life Monday, July 9, 2018. Finnis and Levarn Faine were married 39 years and were blessed with a son, Jeffrey Faine (Brittnie) and a grandson, Kai Faine.

Reverend W. Damone Johnson, Sr., 69, of Orlando, Florida passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 7, 2018 with his loving family by his side at Health Central, Ocoee, Florida. He was born on January 17, 1949 in Orlando, Florida to the late Presiding Elder Leroy L. Johnson, Sr. and the late Cornelia McCarthy Johnson.
