Melvin Lee Barnes Sr., 84, of Sanford, passed away July 26, 2018. He was born in Ft. Reed, Fla. and worked as a custodian for Seminole County Schools. He was also a member of the Full Gospel House of Prayer where he served on the Deacon Board. He is survived by his wife, Mable Duhart Barnes of Sanford; sons, James Barnes Sr. (Kitt) of Sanford, Arthur Barnes Sr.

Eric G. Dawes, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend, died on Sunday, July 22, 2018, in Sanford, Florida. Mr. Eric, age 78, was a sweet and kind soul, who was greatly loved by his family and friends. With his sunny disposition and ever cheerful smile, he loved singing with the men’s choir at the Greater Faith AME Church in Deltona, Florida. Mr.

James Clarence Horne 67 Sanford passed away on Saturday, July 28, 2018. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 4, at 2:30 PM at Rescue Church of God 1700 W Historic Goldsboro Blvd. Interment will follow in Shiloh Cemetery. James was born in Montgomery, Georgia on Tuesday June 26, 1956 to the late Eddie Horne and Beulah Flanders.

George P. Schnippel, age 80, of Sanford, passed away Sunday, July 29, 2018. He was born on January 6, 1938 in Dinsmore Township, Ohio to the late Marcellus and Georgia Schnippel. He moved to Sanford in the early 1980s and was the former General Manager of Flea World. He had a lifelong love of basketball, playing in his youth and watching on television later on in his life.

Joyce Burnell Webster went home to be with our Lord and Savior, while in the arms of her beloved husband July 22, 2018. She is predeceased by her parents Keith and Mable Russell; a baby girl, son Kenneth Webster, brother Kenneth Russell, and sisters Jeanette Williams and Jacqueline Jackson. Mrs. Webster was raised in Norfolk, Virginia, and educated at Booker T. Washington School.

Valeria Andrea White 85 Sanford passed away peacefully on Monday, July 30, 2018 surrounded by her loving and devoted Children. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at 10:00 AM at First Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church 700 Elm Avenue Sanford with Reverend Doctor H. D. Rucker Officiating. Interment will follow in Shiloh Cemetery. Ms.

Willie Henry Banks, 63, born in Albany, GA, August 7, 1954 passed away Saturday, July 21, 2018, in the presence of his loving family. Willie, known by so many as "Bugeye" resided in Mt. Dora, and was a fixture in the community, known and loved by many. "Bugeye" attended the Lake County Public Schools.

Fourth generation Floridian, George Cyrus Harden, Jr. of Sanford, Florida passed away on July 21, 2018 after a short illness. He was born on February 27th, 1935 in Sanford, Florida the son of George Cyrus Harden and Lillie Ruth Spencer Harden. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Garland Spencer Harden.

Kathleen M Harrell, 95,passed away on July 5, 2018.  Originally from Wales, Great Britain, she served in the British Army during World War II in the A.T.S.  In 1953 she met and married US Navy photographer Rawlins (Ron) Harrell.  They returned to the U.S. settling in Jacksonville, FL, where she became a naturalized U.S. Citizen.  They had two children, Susan and Christopher.

Ulysses McCray 57 affectionately known as “Chubby” passed away on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at Central Florida Regional Hospital. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 30, 2018 at 4:00 PM at Saint Paul Missionary Baptist Church 813 Pine Avenue Sanford. Interment will follow in Shiloh Cemetery.
