Sleuthing for Spiders

Saturday, Oct. 6, 6 p.m., Wekiva Springs State Park campground amphitheater. $6. Spider expert hosts a 30 minute presentation on spiders & hike in the Sand Hill area. Wear closed toe shoes, long pants & long sleeved shirt, bring flash light, headlamp, insect repellent, water & camera. Call 407-788-2619.

Star 94.5 FM Radio, CarePlus Health Plans and the Orlando Veterans Administration (VA) Medical Center are hosting a Veteran Town Hall Meeting and a Vietnam Veterans Pinning Ceremony, on Thurs., Sept. 27, 2018; at the Westside Community Center, 919 S. Persimmon Avenue in Sanford, at 10 a.m.

This Saturday, head over to Centennial Park to catch six spectacular bands from noon to 7 p.m. Swing it sweet with local favorites like Jaqueline Jones and Kid Dutch or mix it up with some fresh cuts by Honeypot and The Absinthe Trio.

Last week I caught up with Ty Holden from ASL Services. Ty and the team have collaborated with our Wayne Densch Performing Arts Center to bring a Sign Language interpreted production of Legally Blonde to the stage this Sunday, September 30 at 3 p.m.

The cheerleaders are holding a yard sale at the school on September 29 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The homecoming parade is coming up soon as well on October 18

We'll be having a football tailgate party this Friday from 5:30 to 7 p.m.. to celebrate our Varsity football game against Windemere Prep. Boxed dinners of hamburgers or hotdogs, chips and a drink will be available for purchase at our football game.
