BUDGET HEARINGS?

The City of Sanford is in the midst of budget hearings, one of the most boring but most important things that City Commissioners do.

To the left is a spreadsheet showing the trend in spending for law enforcement.

Note that the number of sworn officers and total personnel is down from 2010. However, the total budget is up slightly.

Loretta Lynch, the Attorney General of the United States of America, coincidentally saw Bill Clinton’s plane on the tarmac next to her plane at Sky Harbor Airport in Phoenix. Bill was walking toward her plane in the hot sun. Knowing of his heart condition, Loretta invited him aboard where they spent half an hour discussing their grandchildren.

Snarky means well, he was upset because of the unwanted national media attention.

The history books tell us the War with Mexico ended in 1848, when U.S. troops marched into Mexico City.

We had skirmishes with the Mexicans in 1914, occupying Vera Cruz.

Until after World War II, Mexicans were a minute minority in this country. This changed with the need for farm labor in California’s Imperial Valley.
