Cold one in the ER

Oviedo police responded to the Oviedo Emergency Room last Friday after staff reported a man was “being belligerent and drinking beer in the room,” according to his arrest report.

Security officers told police the man was about to be discharged when he became violent and physically aggressive. They said the man was pacing around the room yelling obscenities and struck the security guards several times.

Jeanpierre Hernandez Medina, 37, of Kissimmee, was charged with battery on an officer and disorderly intoxication.

Blame it on the cops

Deputies pulled over an Orlando man in Casselberry last Friday because they suspected the window tint on his vehicle was illegal.

Once pulled over deputies said they smelled marijuana and proceeded to search the vehicle. Inside they found two separate containers with marijuana inside. When they questioned the man he said, “I was just arrested for 20 pounds of marijuana. It’s the cops fault who searched the vehicle, because they must not have got it all.”

Jalyn Binion, 23, was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug equipment. He was taken to the Seminole County jail.

Baby, light my fire

Casselberry police responded to a home on Capron Ash Loop because a man said his wife pulled a knife on him.

When police responded they learned the couple was in the process of divorcing and the man had returned home to collect his things. When he entered the home the woman grabbed a knife, prompting him to leave and call police. When police arrived she told them if he came in the house she would “stab him.” The officer also noted in his report that while speaking to her, “it was apparent an active fire was burning in the backyard, which quickly became out of control and ignited the nearby trees.”

Another officer took a garden hose to the fire and called the fire department for further assistance. The wife told police she just had some things she wanted to burn that were her personal property. The report said once the smoke cleared they saw the remnants of mens shirts on hangars in the ashes. The wife’s theory: since the two were still married it was common property so she had the right to burn it.

Kharene Johnson, 42, of Casselberry, was charged with two counts of battery and property damage.

Not so smart

Altamonte Springs police arrested an Orlando woman Tuesday after they said she had multiple drugs in her car during a traffic stop.

When police pulled the woman over they noticed her trying to hide things in the car, prompting them to search the vehicle. In the car police found marijuana, meth, and syringes. During the stop they said the woman appeared to be going in and out of consciousness so they had to administer NARCAN and take her to the hospital for further treatment.

Shauna Smart, 43, was charged with possession of meth, possession of marijuana, drug equipment possession and driving with a suspended license.
