Our Take: Giuliani Big Mouth.

Great, Rudy Giuliani has to open his big mouth.

We have been in a state of war with North Korea for 68 years.  It is time to end it.

Donald Trump is the first president to take the real initiative in that direction.

So what does Rudy do?  Needing attention in his old age, he brags that the leader of North Korea begged us to meet with him.  Regardless of whether that is true, Rudy should have kept his mouth shut.  He has said some other pretty zany things recently, maybe it is dementia or mind altering drugs that caused him to do it.

In any case, if his comments don't torpedo the meeting in Singapore, Trump should start treating him like he does his Attorney General, Jeff Sessions.

What real aid have the Chinese and the Russians provided to their client state?  Over 68 years, not much. Look at computer maps of the country at night, all around North Korea, there is light. You can tell the country's outline because it is the dark spot in the middle.

If we can break the stranglehold that China and Russia have on the Hermit Kingdom, it will benefit both Koreas. But North Korea will be the real winner.

If both North Korea and the United States are serious, answers to the following questions and more are necessary.

How to introduce private enterprise into a completely totalitarian state?  How to disband a standing army and provide jobs for the soldiers building the infrastructure needed?  How to do these and the other changes required and still keep the country under the control of the Kim dynasty?

When you have lots of generals with lots of medals on their chests standing around with nothing to do, it will not be an easy job.
