THE SCHOOL BOARD OF SEMINOLE COUNTY, FLORIDA
POLICY TITLE: School Attendance Zones pursuant to School Board Policy 5.30
PURPOSE AND EFFECT: The purpose of amending this policy is to clarify and provide more specificity to the parameters of the Preference Zones for the following elementary schools: Bentley, Crystal Lake, Goldsboro, Hamilton, Idyllwilde, Midway, Pine Crest, Wicklow, and Wilson. A Preference Zone is a specifically described geographical area surrounding a (region or magnet) school in which students residing in the Preference Zone have a placement preference in the student assignment process for that school pursuant to School Board Policy 5.30. Each of the Preference Zones included within the Attendance Zone Plans for the listed schools will be impacted.

POLICY TITLE: Policy 5.31 Revision of School Attendance Zones
PURPOSE AND EFFECT: The School Board seeks to revise the elementary school attendance zone for the areas proposed for new residential development to insure balanced school enrollment. The area is located on the north side of SR 434; East of SR 417; and contains approximately 20.5 acres approved for single-family detached homes. The affected schools are Geneva Elementary School and Lawton Elementary School. The subject properties are currently undeveloped and have no residential building permits issued at this time.
