POLICY TITLE: Policy 5.31 Revision of School Attendance Zones
PURPOSE AND EFFECT: The School Board seeks to amend Policy 5.31, modifying the attendance zones of Sanford and Indian Trails Middle schools, and Seminole and Winter Springs High schools. The School Board of Seminole County hereby gives notice of its intent to adopt Policy 5.31 – Revision of School Attendance Zones at its regular school board meeting on September 27, 2016, at 5:30 PM at the at the Educational Support Center, 400 East Lake Mary Boulevard, Sanford, Florida 32773. Persons requesting a public hearing, pursuant to Section 120.54(3)(c)1 F.S., shall submit their request in writing to Jill Mahramus, Clerk of the School Board, Seminole County Public Schools, 400 East Lake Mary Boulevard, Sanford, Florida 32773 within 21 days after the date of publication of this notice. Requests may be submitted by fax to (407) 320-0281 or email to jill_mahramus@scps.k12.fl.us. Initial notice of intent to amend policy was published in the newspaper on July 3, 2016. The representative groups are: district level staff members including, but not limited to the Executive Director of Operations Joe Ranaldi, the educational level executive director(s) Mr. Michael Gaudreau, Dr. Shelia Windom and others.
The person to be contacted for a copy of the proposed policy amendments is Joe Ranaldi, Executive Director of Operations, 400 E Lake Mary Blvd, Sanford, FL 32773-7127, joee_ranaldi@scps.us., (407) 320-0126 at least 48 hours prior to the meeting. If any person appearing before the School Board anticipates or expects that he or she might appeal any decision made by the School Board, that person will need a record of the proceedings, and that for such purpose, that person will need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based, F.S. 286.0105.
