EQUAL TIME FOR THE CLINTON FAMILY

At the finale of the Republican Convention, the candidate and his family were on stage taking in the cheers of the multitude.

In contrast, at the Democratic Convention, only the candidate, her husband, and daughter were there.

The media never calls Chelsea by her married or hyphenated name, Mezvinsky. Why is this?  Are the Clinton’s uncomfortable with their in-laws?

A few years ago, in 2010, when Chelsea married Marc Mezvinsky in an “interfaith ceremony” in Rhinebeck, N.Y., the only problem was Marc’s dad. This is now not the case, as Marc himself is now causing anguish and gnashing of teeth among the Clinton women.

Chelsea’s father-in-law, Ed Mezvinsky, now twice divorced, was a Congressman from Iowa, then U S Ambassador to the United Nations Commission on Human Rights, still later the chairman of the Democratic Party in Pennsylvania. His next accomplishment was to be named Federal Prisoner #55040-066. Mezvinsky served his time at Club Fed Eglin in the Florida panhandle from February 2003 to April 2008.

What did he do to earn the right to spend five years in a federal country club prison? We are all familiar with the Nigerian scams where you suddenly come into a large amount of money if you only send a down payment and your credit card number, etc., to post office box xxx. Mezvinsky may have been ahead of his time.

Was Mezvinsky doing this before the Nigerians? He started it in the early 1990s. He pled guilty to 31 felony charges of bank, wire, and mail fraud in 2001. The total take was in the neighborhood of $10 million. As of 2010, he still owed $9.4 million to his victims. Not a pretty sight.

Son Marc, who graduated from Stanford in 2000, about the time the family filed for bankruptcy, spent eight years as an investment banker at Goldman Sachs. He then co-founded a hedge fund firm called Eaglevale Partners. In 2014, they opened Eaglevale Hellenic Opportunity Fund to invest in Greek government bonds. The fund promptly lost 90 percent of its value and closed in May of this year.

The Clinton women’s biggest problem seems to be the men, all of them.
