Hard-working, polite, community-involved and creative are all words that Sanford folks have used to describe Henry Dorvil, otherwise known as Mr. Goodvibes, the owner of his company, GoodVibesTelevision.
Born in Haiti, Dorvil was raised in Orlando attending Evans High School in 9th and 10th grade but later graduating from Work Force Advantage Academy. He moved to Sanford about 2 years ago and began working various jobs while growing his video business.
With that creativity, Dorvil admitted that as a child he enjoyed television shows and would brain-storm on different outcomes for shows or commercials. "When I was younger, I watched a lot of TV, and when commercials would come on I always created different versions in my head to make the commercial better. That's what started the love for film making."
Dorvil not only works numerous jobs in the county but is drawn to helping others and sharing his talents. "GoodVibesTelevision is Sanford's number 1 video production company," said Dorvil. "When I moved to Sanford a couple years ago I loved the sense of community. I love to use my gift of film making to volunteer on certain projects that I am passionate about.  As a company I feel GoodVibesTelevision has impacted the community by volunteering our spare time and producing videos for cleanups around the city. My portfolio has included a commercial for West End Trading company, a documentary for Willow Tree Cafe , Sanford Brewing Company, Candlelight Cafe, and the Historic Sanford Welcome Center. I've also produced a GoodVibesTelevision episode on YouTube."
His reward for helping others, in his words, "is just seeing others light up with enjoyment." He added, "I have leaned that the community is a very small and a tight knit community, where everyone knows each other and supports local businesses no matter how small or big the dream."
Although Dorvil has strived earnestly to become better and better at his trade he was quick to thank many friends that have assisted in his growth in Sanford. He also noted that his mentor, Daniel Morris of Park Avenue Photography has helped him "evolve" in his knowledge in film making and photography and has made "a huge impact on the growth" of his company. Of course, she cited, "My future plans include being the best filmmaker in all of Central Florida."
The most exciting news about Dorvil's company, GoodVibesTelevision, is the recent documentary called, “Gemutlichkeit: Made in America,” that he has created for Willow Tree Cafe's 15 year anniversary covering not only their family, experience and impact in Sanford. The film will debut on Monday, August 1 at 6:30 p.m at the Wayne Densch Performing Arts Center in Sanford.
The company can also be found on Facebook by searching GoodVibesTelevision.
