The Bulletin Board: Seminole High Class of ‘91 to celebrate 25th reunion

The Seminole High School Class of 1991 is celebrating their 25th Year Class Reunion in Sanford this weekend, July 15-17, 2016, with the following events.  
Fri., July 15: “Meet and Greet” at Logan's Roadhouse Grill, 4649 W. First St., from 6-8 p.m. in the side room. The theme for the event, “Back Down Memory Lane”. Please wear the school colors or your spirit shirt and bring yearbooks or old pictures to share with classmates.
• Sat., July 16 at 12 noon: Tour Seminole High School (At least 10 people must sign up in order to have the tour.)
• Sat., July 16 at 6:30 p.m.: Gather at the St. Johns Rivership Company, 433 N. Palmetto Ave., for group photos and Itinerary instructions; then board the Rivership Barbara-Lee for a dinner cruise on the historic and scenic St. Johns River from 7:30-11 p.m.  Note:  The boat leaves at exactly 7:30 p.m.
• Sun., July 17 at 11 a.m.: Classmates will worship together at Bread of Life Christian Church, 2146 Church St. in Midway; Pastor Robert Bradley.
All classmates are cordially invited to come out and join in this fun-filled weekend of activities, food, fun and fellowship. The Planning Committee asks classmates to “like us” on Facebook and share with your friends and also “friend” the class page (shsclassninetyone) to keep up with upcoming events. • Sat., July 23: Youth Day, with two sessions: At 11 a.m., inspirational music, Guest Speaker, Chaplain Joe William and lunch.  At 5 p.m., a Community Awareness Workshop on Human Trafficking. Meg Johnson, of the 121 Hope Foundation, will be the Guest Presenter. Learn about schemes used to trap youth, signs of youth being trafficked, awareness, prevention and more. Boys and girls are being targeted; protect loved ones from being “chosen” for human trafficking. The Youth Day Theme, “Passionately Equipping Youth to Reach the Next Generation for Christ”. • Sat., July 30 at 5:30 p.m.: “Sing-spiration Roll Back”. It’s roll-back time again and you don’t want to miss it!  Join us for an afternoon of joyful singing of the early advent songs.  “We do not want to forget how God has led us in the past and the messages in song that helped us to be who we are today”, says the Program Chairman. • The Goldsboro Front Porch Council, Inc., will host their First Annual Celebration, “Pathways to History”, at the Westside Community Center, 919 S. Persimmon Ave. on Aug. 6 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Ticket donation, $25. Call the Front Porch Office, 407-915-6088, for more information and to get your ticket.

• The Westside Community Center, 919 S. Persimmon Ave. will host a Free Youth Basketball Clinic, Tues.-Thurs., July 26-28, from 6-8 p.m. nightly as follows: for ages 5 to 10 on July 26; for ages 11 to 15 on Jul 27. All ages and games on July 28.  Youths will be taught basic skills.  
Space is limited; youths must pre-register. Registration dates: Tues., July 19 from 6-7:30 p.m. and Wed., July 20 from 6-7 p.m.  Questions, call Britt Henderson at 321-262-3284.

• The Sanford Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Social Action Committee reminds everyone that the 2016 Florida Primary is Tues., Aug. 30.  
The last day to register to be able to vote in the Florida Primary is Tues., Aug. 1. You must be registered as a Democrat to vote in the Democratic Party Primary for Democratic nominees. You must be registered as a Republican to vote in the Republican Party Primary for Republican nominees.  
All voters can participate in non-partisan elections, such as judicial, school board and city elections. Early voting for the Aug. 30 Florida Primary Election will take place Aug. 20-27 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day. If you have any questions, want to change party affiliation, or if you have moved and need to update your voter registration information, contact the Supervisor of Elections office, 407-585-VOTE (8683).

• Travel anyone? Gladys Green has coordinated two trips abroad in 2017 and she invites you to join her and her travel group. In March 2017, the travel group (adults and students) will tour beautiful and scenic Madrid, Cordoba and Seville Spain. Students are encouraged to take this educational trip which is accredited for high school students.  May 16-23, 2017, the travel group will make an incredible Journey to Dubai to visit famous sites and exhibits.  
A slide show presentation previewing the Dubai trip will be held on Thurs., Aug. 18, 6:30 p.m., at Go Travel, 344 Fairbanks Ave., Winter Park.  Light refreshments will be provided.  RSVP your attendance by Mon., Aug. 15. For detailed information about the trips to Spain and Dubai and to RSVP for the Dubai trip preview, call Gladys Green at 407-314-5500 or Gail McQueen at 407-592-1850.  Sign up today; payment plans are available. The first deposit for the Dubai trip is due in August.
