Jeanine Taylor Folk Art will celebrate the birthday of one of Florida folk art’s matriarchs: Ruby C. Williams. The lady is shy to divulge her age, but encourages a hazard of guesses.
Jeanine Taylor will fete the granddame in grand style with sweet tea toasts, collards and cornbread, remarks and merry-making on Sunday afternoon from 2 to 4 p.m. at the gallery.

My Son Pinocchio
    
The Wayne Densch Performing Arts Center is thrilled to present: “My Son Pinocchio, Jr.”
Join Geppetto, Pinocchio, the Blue Fairy, Stromboli and more as the enchanted tale about a toymaker and his beloved creation comes to life on stage this weekend.

Lillie Lemon
    
Electronica/synth-pop duo Lillie Lemon from Sheboygan, WI is passing through between there and Monterey, CA and will grace Little Fish, HUGE Pond with her electric hooks and vernacular phrasing tonight, Wednesday.
Saturday, check out Mo’s Market with oodles of non-corporate vendors, interesting eats and music from the local kids, “The Smoking Jackets.”
These events are free and open to the public- both kick off at 8 p.m.  

Calls to Photographers
    
The Sanford Camera Club will hold their first meeting tonight: Wednesday, June 22 at 6:30 in the Historic Sanford Welcome Center. This evening’s presentation will cover techniques to be used for photographing fireworks.
This Historic Sanford Trust has issued a call to photographers for their black and white images for their 2017 calendar.
Submission deadline is June 30; visit the Trust’s website for more details.

Time Chasers

Fathom Films will bring the cultishly classic antics from the characters of Mystery Science Theater 3000 to theaters around the country including the AMC in Altamonte Springs next Tuesday, June 28 at 8 p.m.

Calls to Actors
    
The Shoestring Theater has issued a call to actors for “Young Frankenstein.” Auditioners will be asked to read from the script and sing a song of their choosing on Friday, June 24 at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 10 a.m. in Sanford's First Presbyterian Church on S. Park Ave.

The Spotlight Theater has sent out their casting call for “The Addams Family, A New Musical Comedy.” In either an elaborately choreographed act of chaos or grace, the auditions for this production will be run concurrent to Young Frankenstein’s.
