The Bulletin Board: Morning Glory M.B. Church holds annual ‘The Consecrated Ship’

The Choir at Morning Glory M.B. Church, 2600 E. SR-46 in Midway, presented their annual rendition of “The Consecrated Ship” on Sun., June 26 at 3 p.m.   
Sis. Cynthia Kendricks-Walden (New Hope Baptist Church-Deltona; Pastor William L. Bradley, Jr.), presided.  Sis. Henrietta Pearson and Friends led the devotion. Rev. Eddie Martin gave the prayer and Sis. Verlene Walker extended a hearty “Welcome Aboard the Consecrated Ship”. Sis. Thelma Kendrick read the Scripture and the Morning Glory Choir sang uplifting songs of praise.
Guest speakers from local churches described, with scripture references, various parts of the “ship”, as follows: Friendship by Elder Marlo Brown (The Word Center Church; Pastor Rico Sharp); Hardship by Sis. Patricia Eudell (New Life Word Center; Pastor R.W. Merthie); Discipleship by Elder Dorothy Blake (Morning Glory M.B. Church; Pastor Jimmie L. Blake); Companionship by Sis. Marie Williams (New Life Word Center); Fellowship by Sis. Annie Hillery (The Word Center); Stewardship by Sis. Terry Jean Britton (New Life Word Center); Battleship by Mother Claretha Hudson (Shower Down of Blessings Church; Pastor Timothy Hudson); Worship by Evangelist Georgia Ware-Black (Church of God of Prophecy; Pastor Walter Seymour); and Leadership by Minister Willie Mae Lowery (Christian Fellowship Baptist Church; Pastor Otis C. Raines).
Words of appreciation were expressed by Sis. Erma Jean Cooper and Sis. Rebecca Brown, Choir President. Pastor Jimmie Blake gave the closing remarks and the benediction.

Expressly You School of the Arts, Inc., is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization that endeavors to reach out to at-risk youth in the community through the exciting world of the Arts. The school is located at 1211 Mellonville Ave. in Sanford.  
They serve children ages 3-18. Their mission is to foster a loving and nurturing environment conducive to creative productivity and positive behavior modification.  “Our goal for our children is to provide meaningful and unique experiences outside of their immediate surroundings, thereby promoting motivation to aspire to do and be more” says Artistic Director, Maya Nathan.

• The Florida Department of Health in Seminole County (DOH-Seminole) congratulates the Seminole County School District on their Bronze level recognition as a Florida Healthy School District.
This recognition, developed by the Florida Coordinated School Health Partnership, aims to recognize the hard work and success of school districts related to physical, mental and social health of students and staff.
