The Wayne Densch Performing Arts Center continues their “Classics on Magnolia” series this Thursday with the 1944 film noir classic, “Double Indemnity.” Directed by Billy Wilder and co-written by Wilder and Raymond Chandler, this flick follows the story of an insurance salesman and sexualized housewife.
The dramatic tale is characterized by a hard-boiled storyline and cool portrayals in a polarized landscape of the stylized Hollywood 1940s persona.
In the opening scene, Fred MacMurry uses his Dictaphone to tell his story to friend, he’s confessing to crimes he and Barbara Stanwyck would conspire to commit including the murder of her husband for insurance money.
This screening begins at 7:23 p.m. on the evening of Thursday, July 30; tickets may be purchased at the box-office before showtime with $5 cash.

Deltona Art Club

The Deltona Art Club is thrilled to celebrate their own Dee Klink and her painting “Galloping Horses” that was chosen by Deltona mayor John Masiarczyk to grace their City Hall. Klink was born in the Philippines and began drawing at a very young age, but did not take any classes until she was an adult living in Manila and working for a bank. Dee and her husband have moved around the country and the world several times and the exotic landscapes of memory flow through her in both acrylic and oil paints.
Stop into Deltona City Hall where Dee’s painting is on view for another few days.

Morse Museum
