Doors lock inexplicably and lights turn on without reason at the Museum of Seminole County History. This building was once Seminole County’s old folk’s home, and some of its residents are said to still haunt the premises almost ninety years after the building first opened its doors.
Mike Damsel and the RIP Hunters are a paranormal investigative group which hopes to find out more about the strange occurrences recorded at the museum. In past investigations they have spoken with a deceased judge, a little girl who used to play on the porch, and a mysterious entity who prowls the building’s basement.
The RIP Hunters will be holding two meetups at the museum on the night of Saturday, June 18 at 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. The museum will be open especially for the occasion to those who pre-register, and there is a fee of $30. Check out www.meetup.com/riphunters for more information and to register for this unique opportunity to be a part of this investigation.
The museum also has a regular paranormal tour available during open hours, where visitors can learn about some of the strange happenings which have taken place within the walls. The Museum is open from 1 to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, and admission is $3 for adults and $1 for children, plus tax. The museum is located at 300 Bush Blvd. in Sanford.
