Mahany reelected without opposition; 2 qualify for District 3

With qualifying ending Tuesday afternoon Sanford will see the reelection of Commissioner Patty Mahany for District 4 and two candidates for District 3.
Sanford residents Patrick Austin and Steve DellaSala both qualified for District 3. Incumbent Commissioner Randy Jones chose not to run again.
District 3 is roughly made up of the Sanford Heights neighborhood, Hidden Lakes neighborhood and Lake Minnie area.
The municipal election will be held Tuesday, Aug. 30. An elected commissioner will make $7,500 in salary and $7,200 in expenses for a total annual compensation of $14,700.
