Arts Alive: Wayne Densch to host comedian Luenell Campbell

The Wayne Densch Performing Arts Center will host an adult comedy show by one of the original bad girls of entertainment, Luenell Campbell. She's not failed to get a rise out of audiences in roles for Borat, American Hustle and more.
Showtime begins at 7 p.m. on Saturday tickets can be purchased at the box office before the performance, online at WDPAC.com or by calling 407-321-8111.

Journeys
    
Noted Colombian painter and Seminole County transplant, María del Pilar Vargas is thrilled to be putting on her second solo show of the year, this one at the Lake Mary Museum.
An opening reception will be hosted by the artist on Friday, June 10 from 6 to 8 p.m.
This event is free and open to the public.
    
America the Beautiful
    
The Florida Hospital in Altamonte will open their current season's collection at the Art of Healing Gallery. Patriotic images will awe and inspire with work from local painters, photographers and artisans all with the intention of spreading the healing vibe. The gallery will be specifically dedicated to benefit the community and is set to feature local artist Michael Bisceglia this month.
A reception is to be held on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. Come one, come all!

The Oakhill Drifters
    
Saturday night, check out The Oakhill Drifters at Little Fish, HUGE Pond for a 9 p.m. show. Catch the swingin' rockabilly sounds of their steel pedal guitar while Tommy Cooper finesses his instrument and Rachel Decker jives all over the joint.

Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall
    
The Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall, a 3/5 size replica of the original in Washington D.C., honors the more than 3 million Americans who served during the conflict and the 58,000 who laid their lives upon the alter.
The Traveling Wall will arrive at the Reiter Park in Longwood, today, Wednesday June 8 and will be open 24 hours a day so that visitors may pay their respects at any time through this Sunday, June 12.

Call to Artists
    
These are the last few days to submit your art to Hollerbach Art Haus for their upcoming exhibit celebrating German heritage and in commemoration of Willow Tree Cafe's 15th anniversary in Sanford. All media will be accepted and there is no submission fee, but details apply.

Calls to Actors
    
The Shoestring Theater has issued a call to actors for “Young Frankenstein.” Auditioners will be asked to read from the script and sing a song of their choosing on Friday, June 24 at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 10 a.m. in Sanford's First Presbyterian Church on S. Park Ave.
