The Seminole County Property Appraiser released estimates for property values for 2016 and Sanford is expected to see the second smallest amount of growth in the county.
The values include real and personal property and will be finalized prior to July 1 and submitted to the Department of Revenue for approval. The estimates will be used for budgeting purposes within the cities.
Following that process, Taxing Authorities will subsequently receive the Official 2016 Taxable Values for their specific jurisdictions.
Property Aprraiser David Johnson commented: “Commercial and residential property values throughout Seminole County continue rising for a fourth year a steady and balanced improvement and are reflected in these preliminary 2016 Estimates of Taxable Values.” The total preliminary increase in real property value countywide is $1.6 billion. “Contributing
to this overall increase is $300 million worth of new construction which includes 893 new homes and 640 new apartment units” Mr. Johnson added.
The 2016 Estimate of Taxable Values are listed below for the County, School Board and the seven municipalities. The percentage of change is reflective of the 2015 “Final Certified Taxable Values” to the 2016 Estimate of Values:
