Police arrest 3 in connection with Goldsboro homicide: Chief: Senseless crimes in community must come to an end

Sanford Police arrested three people this week in connection with the homicide that occurred in Goldsboro on Tuesday afternoon.
Police responded to the Seminole Gardens Apartment Complex around 12:15 p.m. after a shooting was reported. As they arrived, a Sanford Police officer immediately identified a vehicle fleeing from the scene.
The victim, JohnKevius Carey, 22, was transported to the Central Florida Regional Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Officers were able to follow the vehicle to the area of 18th Street and Airport Boulevard where the suspects crashed the car into a ditch and attempted to flee on foot. All three were apprehended by police a short distance from the scene.
Based on the investigation all three suspects were arrested.
Dazman Williams, 24, of Eustis, was charged with first-degree premeditated murder, possession of a firearm by a felon, and use of a firearm in commission of a felony.
David Sinclair Kimbrough Jr., 22, of Sanford, was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and resisting and officer without violence.
Shakira Williams, 23, of Titusville, was charged with accessory after the fact first-degree premeditated murder, felony fleeing and eluding police, and resisting an officer without violence.
Both Kimbrough and Dazman Williams had previously served time in prison. Dazman Williams served slightly less than three years for aggravated assault and aggravated battery and was released in August 2015. Kimbrough served slightly less than two years for burglary and was released in March 2014.
All three remain in the Seminole County jail.
Police Chief Cecil Smith said, “Today’s [Tuesday’s] events led to a senseless death committed by individuals who apparently had no respect for those within our community. At some point, we as a community must say enough is enough, and come together to put a stop to these tragedies.”
