Andre Luciano

The 26-year-old man who confessed to killing a woman in a dry cleaning store in Lake Mary in September was sentenced to life in prison Friday.

Andre Luciano was caught by police shortly after the murder occurred when police said he confessed to his uncle about the killing. In an interview with investigators Luciano admitted to killing Nu Dang, 60.
Luciano also told investigators he had bought the gun to kill himself.

On the day of the murder Luciano had rode SunRail to Lake Mary and walked to the shopping center where the dry cleaners was located, on Country Club behind the SunRail station. Reportedly Dang would not allow Luciano to use the bathroom in the cleaners so Dang forced her into the bathroom, tied her up and shot her. He also stripped her of her clothing.

Customers that came to the store later noticed something off and found Dang’s body in the bathroom. Dang had worked in the store for 28 years and was familiar with members of the community as well as members of the police department, who often dropped off dry cleaning with her.

After the murder Luciano took Dang’s car and police found him in Kissimmee with the vehicle as well as the murder weapon.

He was charged with first degree murder, kidnapping, burglary with a battery, and robbery with a firearm. He plead guilty to the charges to avoid the death penalty.
