The Federal Reserve System

What is it?

Over a hundred years ago the nation's banking system called the Federal Reserve was set up.

The main bank was located, naturally, in New York City, the financial capital of the country.

Other reserve banks were established as clearing houses in major cities of the nation.

The Mayor has an awakening.

Some brilliant person put the following item on the consent agenda for last Monday's Sanford City Commission meeting:

Approve the Live PD Agreement between The City of Sanford (Police Dept.) and Big Fish Entertainment, LLC.(WS 6.A)

John McCain's Funeral

Can you believe it?  John McCain is handing out invitations to his funeral!  It is going to be held in the National Cathedral in Washington.

Love at First Insult

Look at who are now best buds!  Tweety, the President of the United States of America and The Twerp, the Supreme Leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, that's who.

Remember, it was just a little while ago that The Twerp was sending rockets over Japan and threatening to annihilate Guam and San Francisco.

When did Downtown Become a Suburb?

For almost a hundred years since its founding, 1877, Sanford's downtown grew up and prospered at the site of the steamboat landing on Lake Monroe.  It eclipsed Mellonville a mile further to the East and finally absorbed it.
